Kryss Sinsir: He looked back at her in surprise, then couldn't help but smile. He skated back to her and gently stroked her cheek. "Well, didn't you admit to me that you hadn't kissed anyone either? And that is at least as great a miracle."
ashestoapples Annice blushed quite brightly at the contact and might have possibly maybe taken his hand to keep it where it was for a few seconds longer than Sinsir had intended to keep it there. But she did giggle at what he said! "Hardly! I mean, yes, I suppose it's a bit odd, but... I was quite busy! And nobody ever really... asked?" she said, almost more of a question than a statement. "B-but that's beside the point." She looked around and the students and teachers who were trickling off in groups before looking back at Sinsir and smiling as brightly as she could. "Did you want to go back to," she looked both ways, "you know? Get some more of your favorite cookies?" she whispered, understanding that this was a secret she had to guard with her very life. "Or maybe we could see your family!" she said excitedly! "Or if you're busy it's fine." It was occurring to her more and more that each time Sinsir took her anywhere he was considering it a date, so she didn't want to be pushy.
Kryss Sinsir: He couldn't help but dart his eyes around and pulled at his collar. He also felt a warm sensation as she suggested they drift off on their own. "I think both of those would be lovely," he said, taking her hand again. "Whichever you want first, snowflake."
Annice nodded excitedly! "Maybe we should... see your family first! Just in case we have any... paraphernalia that we may have to hide at a later time." She said this all in a hushed tone, putting one hand backside toward her mouth and angled toward him. The whole thing was very hush hush!! And she would hate for his dad to think he was a traitor. That simply wasn't true! He just enjoyed certain treats was all! And the factory had delicious drinks, of course. Still holding Sinsir's hand, she headed toward a bench near the ice skates kiosk where they could sit and take off their skates and return them. "Does that sound okay?" she said belatedly. She had a feeling that even if Sinsir did disagree with her on a topic or... anything at all, really, that he wouldn't say so. But also she wasn't sure if they disagreed on anything yet, so maybe she was just overly cautious sometimes.

Sinsir: He rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. Admittedly he was very sneaky about it, but Annice always made it such a large deal, he felt quite self-conscious. It almost made it worse that she was completely sincere. He nodded, however.
"That sounds like a good idea! I know Melys has been wanting to see you again. She is very fond of you." He began skating back to the exit of the rink, pausing to buy two hot chocolates as he did. "I know they're not as good as Cain's, but I thought you'd like something to keep you warm while we travel." Once they exited the rink, he carefully took off his skates and handed them to the elf, who placed them back in their special box. "Would you like to walk or take a carriage?"

Annice: Annice nodded, seriously, but perked quite easily when talk of Melys came up. "I'm so glad! She's adorable. I just adore her!" She took the cocoa gratefully (she uttered many terms of thanks and cradled it like she would a baby bunny) and sipped it very carefully as to not burn herself, blowing on it every now and again.
She considered his offer. As much as she enjoyed carriages, she thought (but wasn't sure) that Sinsir's house was close enough that they shouldn't bother getting a carriage just to spend Sinsir's bells. "I'm perfectly fine with walking!" she said truthfully. "Your house isn't far from here, right?" Now that she had her coat and other winter gear it wouldn't be an issue at all! Not only that, but they had cocoa, and Sinsir was always about as warm as... well, cookies. Not as scalding as immediately out of the oven, but about as pleasant as cookies that had been sitting for just a bit.
"That is, of course, if you don't mind walking!" His stride was longer than hers, but he always seemed to walk at a speed comfortable for her.

Sinsir: He smiled at her, glad that she and his sister got along so well.
"No, it's not too far at all. And it is a pleasant walk." He offered his arm out to her grandly. She took it, and he laid his hand over hers. They walked through the square, leaving Cain and Alice to deal with the students injuring themselves on the ice and the growing snowball war. They passed the tree and shoppers, all busy with last minute gift buying. Most of the workshop elves were still doing triple shifts. He dropped some bells into the caroler's collecting bonnet. He led her down the streets, turning into the cobbled lane lit by gas lamps. He made his way down to his father's small shop, candlelight glowing from the windows. Down the alley they went, and through the side door into the kitchen. Sinsir stomped the snow off his feet, calling out "Father?"

Annice: She walked with him gladly, smiling brightly at everything that crossed her path. How could anyone not be happy in Christmas Town? Maybe a little sleepy if you were a yhi like Annice, but definitely happy! She waved at basically every elf they passed!! They were so cute! But not anywhere near as cute as Melys!!
When Sinsir opened the door for her, she breathed in deeply through the nose, taking in the smells of the Dyn family's kitchen. It was warm and homey, and Annice almost felt like the flowery scents of Easter were missing something. She busied herself kicking the snow off her boots as she heard noises that sounded like movement coming from the storefront.

Sinsir & co: It wasn't long before a rotund, cheerful man entered the scene, taking off his spattered apron and hat as he entered.
"Sinsir! And Annice, my dear, you're looking so well!" He gave the shepherdess an enormous hug, lifting her off her feet, although they weren't much different in height.
"Father, I need to speak with you about something..." Sinsir said, his eyebrows furrowing as he frowned. Before he could take his father aside, however, there came a loud clomping like a small herd of elephants making their way down the stairs.
"Annice? Did someone say Annice?" A small golden brown, blue, and white blur sped into the room and smacked into Annice, thin arms wrapping tightly around her waist. "Annniiiiiiiice!!!!!!!!!!" Melys cried out, lifting her head to look up into her face, her chin resting comfortably on her stomach. "I missed you so much!!!!!!!!!!"

Annice: Though a little overwhelmed, she was so happy to see them again!! "Mr. Dyn!!" She squeaked when he lifted her up, even though she should have known it would happen, and she looked at Sinsir worriedly when he talked to his father. She didn't have time to do much else, though, because Melys probably could have lost a fondant curl with how she smacked into her!
Annice hugged her tightly and got down on her knees so she could more properly hug her. "I missed you too, Melys!!!" She kissed her on the forehead and smoothed out a curl or two that had gotten jarred in her catapult down the stairs. "How are you?"

Sinsir & co: "I'm goooooood!!! My dad gave me five shining stars this week for being so great at deliveries! If I get ten more he's gonna take me on a sleigh ride!!!" She said proudly, puffing up her tiny chest. "What about youuuuuuu? Do you have any more stories about your animals?? I want to hear about the sheep again!! What have they been doing?" She bounced on her heels just a little, clearly excited. Sinsir took his father by the arm and led him to the other side of the kitchen. " Father," he said again, clearing his throat unnecessarily, "I have discovered one of the... design features that you put in, and I am not very happy about it. I think we need to discuss changing it..." he said with a pointed look. His father's forehead wrinkled as he tried to think. Design feature...? There weren't many he'd stuck in that weren't obvious. And there were only about two that weren't just functio.. nal.... no way. He burst out in laughter, one hand on his copious sweater-wrapped belly. "You guys hadn't even kissed yet? " he cried. "But what about..." "Father! What we do in our personal relationship is none of your... do you have to be so loud?" from Sinsir's flustered expression it was clear that if he could be blushing, he would be.

Annice: "Look at you go!! I bet you'll get ten more in no time!" She poked her in the belly playfully.
"Oh, I'm sure I have some you haven't heard yet! Did I tell you about the time that the sheep I'm looking after for a leprechaun chewed through the door and escaped to the Christmas floor? You can't tell your brother I'm telling you this one!"

Sinsir & co: "No!" she replied, bouncing a little more, but she got distracted at the loud laughter coming from the other side. She hurriedly rushed over. "What's going on?" she asked, looking up fiercely, so they knew she wouldn't let it go until they told her.
"I was just discussing some... redesign possibilities with dad," Sinsir said steadily.
"Redesign?" she said, her eyes wide. "Like what? Are you too tall? You are a lot taller than her. Does Annice not like your nose? I bet it's your nose. It's all-" she had begun making gestures over her own nose, eyes crossed so she could see what she was doing, when a gingerbread finger placed itself over her lips.
"Melys! Please, no. It's not any of those things. It's..." he sighed, glancing at his father. "Father made it so that when I try to... ahem, kiss anyone, this is what happens." He demonstrated the licorice swirl that appeared. Melys gasped, her eyes turning completely round.
"Do... do mine do that?" she asked. Before anyone could answer she darted over to the mirror over the sink, propelling herself onto the counter with her hands, scrambling her knees to the top, ripping her taffy dress. Before her father could so much as say "Ah!" in dismay, she discovered that in fact she could do it, her small strawberry red lips swirling together in a tight spiral. Her eyes went wide again and she clapped her hands to her cheeks. "I am adorable." she declared, awed by her own cuteness.

Annice giggled in spite of herself!!!
"Well, it's certainly cute! On any cookie," she said, only glancing over at Sinsir before looking back at Melys. "Hop down, little duck and let me see that tear." She knew she probably couldn't do much about it, but maybe her body heat was enough to melt it back into place.
"Also, Sinsir's nose is h--" she wanted to say handsome, just like the rest of him was, but she was in his family's house and she didn't want to embarrass him or herself. "Perfectly fine," she settled on.

Sinsir & co: Melys hopped down and went to Annice, holding out the ruined section out for easy viewing. It looked, quite simply, like a piece of taffy pulled until it separated from itself, with thin strings still barely connecting it. Her father approached, placing a hand on his precocious daughter's shoulder.
"It's quite alright, I can take care of it. Even if she should know better," he said, directing the last comment at Melys along with a reprimanding tap on the head. She rolled her eyes, even if she was ducking her head sheepishly.
Sinsir hurried over and took Annice's arm before much else could be said.
"Come on, let's go," he said, gently ushering her out. He knew how his family was when they latched onto a subject, and he didn't really want to get caught up in one of those conversations again. "We will discuss this later," he said to his father just before they left.
"And tell me the story later!" Melys called after them as they disappeared out the door.
Once they were clear, Sinsir relaxed. "Now, where would you like to go next?"

"I will!" she called, "Goodbye!"
When they were outside the house she took a minute to look up at him and smile brightly. He really was handsome- almost like he was getting more and more so every day she saw him- which was most days. How had he never been in another relationship before? That was one of life's greatest mysteries to Annice.
She took his hand gently with both of hers and stood on her tiptoes to plant a kiss on his cheek. It ended up being more like his jaw, but what could she do? He was tall.
"We can go wherever you'd like this time, I think! I almost always pick, and I know you won't lead us astray." Her smile was stuck, she realized! There were worse things. He just... made her happy.

Sinsir: He blinked in surprised as she kissed him, then smiled. He kissed her on top of her head, at the part of her hair (shoving the knowledge of what his mouth looked like to the back of his mind), and wrapped his arm around her waist, holding her close.
"Hmm," he said slowly, grinning down at her as he thought. "Well, would you like to go back to the shopping strip? I believe I only brought you there once, didn't I?" He may have had ulterior motives, but that didn't matter much as long as she didn't find out.

Annice nodded, weaving her arm around him as well for a moment before resting her head on his shoulder.
"That sounds heavenly, Sinsir." She let go of him enough so that they could walk and hummed pieces of Christmas carols she'd picked up around the town as they walked, all the while pondering how carefully sculpted Sinsir's features were. She didn't stare- she was a tad bit too careful for that, but she certainly stole some peeks.
