Harvey: He picked up the book with two hands, and settled it down in his forearm. He reread the spell several times, just to be sure he had it down pat. Still, if simple street vendors could fake it, he was sure the real thing couldn't be too hard! "Ooohhh, most likely not, m'lady!" He laughed and looked up at her. "Sooner or later, I should really teach you something out of here! Do you think Mr. Loveless would like that?" The last thing he wanted to do is upset him! Harvey looked down at the book and stretched his fingers. "Alright, Miss Winnifred! Please do be careful and keep all of your limbs close to the chair! I personally would not recommend flailing about, pretty please!" He licked his teeth and clicked his tongue a few times. His eye snapped at the door to be sure it was closed, and then it looked backed to the window. The curtains were drawn, luckily! He didn't want any passerby to get a glimpse!
He slowly approached Fred and knelt down to one of the chair's legs. "Pardon me, m'lady, but you've seemed a tad...air headed today!" He laughed as he picked the entire chair off the ground, Fred included, with one finger! He held it up for just a moment, "Do be still!" and carefully pulled his finger away, leaving Fred-and the chair- floating in midair, just two feet off the ground!

Fred: She placed her hands on the arm rests and drew her legs more tightly together. "I should think he would! I'll be needing a little help soon enough, what with my mother growing older and I... not." Sometimes she thought about that, her outliving her mother. Her outliving Harvey. Now was not the time though, so she pushed the idea away and put a smile back on.
She opened her mouth for a retort to his jest, but the words were replaced with a gasp. She tilted her head slightly, trying to get a better view of the ground. "Brilliant, Harvey, it's brilliant!" She leaned over more and more and more, not realizing the chair was leaning with her. That is, until she leaned herself onto the ground. She rolled a few feet and heard the chair clatter very close to her head. For a few moments she was a bit stunned, slowly understanding what had happened. Her face lit up and she pushed herself into a sitting position. Looking up at the warlock, she exclaimed, "Another! Please, let's have another!"

Haar: He gave her a huge smile. He was...actually kinda shocked that worked as well as it did!! He looked back down at the book and started to rifle through its pages again. If Winnifred really did live as long as he had heard, he'd want to pass down as much useful information as he possibly could. He wasn't exactly sure how long he would reside in the Loveless manor, but he knew better than to try and make solid plans-they'd never work out. Alas, for now, he had a job to do! As he flipped through, his eye caught a brightly colored page, quite different from the rest! A child's spell involving cartoonish looking ghosts, almost delightful! "M'lady, how about---! M'LADY!" He dropped the book and jumped back, careful not to get hit. He watched her roll in terror, why hadn't he been paying attention!? Harvey didn't notice at this point, but the fire in the candles on his desk grew immensely. He rushed to her, feeling terrible for not even attempting to catch her. "M-lady a thousand pardons wouldn't excuse---ANOTHER?" He sighed in relief and brought a hand to his forehead. "Jesus-Mary-and-Joesph!! Fred---Winnifred, PLEASE try to be careful next time, all right?"
He helped her up and turned to pick up the book, when he realized the desk had started to catch fire. Mr. Loveless' desk. ON FIRE. He dropped the book yet again and rushed over, throwing the vest off and using it to smother the flames. "NO, no no no!!! Not again, please no! God, no! No no!" He whimpered until the fire was completely out, only to step back and realize the desk was fine, and the candles still burned softly. "Oooh," he threw his head in his hands. "Thank God, it was only an illusion..." Damned fires, always creeping out of no where!

Fred: "Oh don't look so concerned sir. I can handle much more than a two foot fall!" she argued, taking Harvey's hand. Her words seemed to fall on flat ears as he hurried to kill the fire and she found herself backing away. What did he mean not again? Had this happened before?! When the flames were out, she carefully crept over to him and placed a hand on his back. He turned and she noticed his shirt. "O-oh dear, Harvey your-" she couldn't finish her sentence, and instead pointed to the thing in question. A large ink stain was splashed across the front of his shirt, the black splatters making a skull.

Harvey: He couldn't help but to twitch a bit when touched. He didn't realize Fred was that close to him! He turned and backed away, just a tad. It was rude not to give a lady her space, he supposed! He exhaled and realized his breath was shaky. Damned fires... He had really begun to thought to had those...entirely under his control. His shoulders collapsed and he looked up at Fred. Her worried expression surprised him and he looked down at his tow shirt to see a skull.
He froze for a moment. "H-have I gone m-mad or is there...?" He trailed off and slowly crossed his arms over it. "I...uh, had an unfortunate encounter earlier with an inkwell and... Your father is apparently lacking tow shirts in his collection!" He let out a laugh, but pulled his arms in tighter. He had to admit, he was officially creeped out. He slowly inched back towards the desk and scooped up the vest. "N-now M'lady, what would you have me do?" He turned his back to her to button up the vest again, and looked over to the book on the floor. "Would you like to learn a simple one? I figure you could master it quite quickly!"

Fred: Harvey wasn't the only one creeped out, and his non-nonchalance about the image made her worry more. She nodded nervously. "Yes, I'd like that very much! If you're alright to keep going that is...?" She glanced back at where the skull had been and shivered. An quick attempt to hide it was made by rearranging her loose bits of hair and a sheepish smile.

Harvey: He padded his chest, reminding himself that the skull was now covered. As much as he tried to mask his uneasiness, he was pretty sure it showed through, in some form! "I-I'm fine as ever, Ms. Winnifred! It's only ink, afterall..." He scratched his face and made his way over to the book, bending down to pick it up. "All right, let's see here..." He tapped his chin. "Ahhh yes, all right! Here we go!" He walked over to Fred and presented the book to her. "Forgive me for getting so close, miss, but it's essential that you see how to do this! Now, try to follow along while I read, all right? You see this writing here? The entirety of the book was never translated from old Slavic languages, and for good reason! This made it harder for nonmagical persons to to comprehend what this was for. But to us magic folk, it is merely a daily hurdle. That's a lesson on its own though, young miss!" He laughed and ran a hand over the page. "Essentially the spell is broken into two parts, summoning a spirit, and releasing. Failing either part with result in a failed spell, simple enough? In our space, at this given moment, we are surrounded by spirits and ghosts of all sorts. However, they are not on the same plane as us. Even though this is a mere child's spell, the movement of a spirit from plane to plane is quite serious. For the most part, excluding severe cases, such as vessels, spirit who are moved from their locale plane will only stay momentarily. Believe it or not, us living actually have the advantage-living beings tend to be stronger magically than those without life. That is the reason we can summon spirits in the first place!"
"Now larger spirits, the nasty ones, really, are extremely difficult to summon as you could guess. The reason this is a child's spell is not due to the foolish looks of the ghosts, but rather because the harmless ones tend to be the easiest to move! Obvious enough, but the reason for their movement is actually the most important factor. Now, the reason these spirits never ascended or descended is because they still have a primary goal to fulfill, but more often than not they have no recollection. It is believed that the undead or 'living' dead have suffered great losses in their memories! It's quite sad, isn't it Fred?" He gave her a warm smile, but then his eye widened, "-Ah, Ms. Winnifred, a-anyway, what I am getting at is, that before summoning a spirit, you need a reason for it's visit! What should our reason be?"

Fred: "If you're sure," she said warily. Moving on from the subject, she peered down at the book in Harvey's hands. She couldn't even read English well, so she didn't know how he expected her to read this! Be it what it would, she listened intently to the "lesson", her curiosity growing more and more. She snickered at his slip up with her hand over her mouth. The hand drew down to her chin as she pondered what the reason should be. She would love to call upon one to terrorize the neighbor boy, the one that called her names and had thrown pebbles at her. Harvey would probably find that in bad taste though, so she came up with another reason. "How about something to clean up the mess in here, hm?" she smirked.

Harvey: "Ah, m'lady, THAT would be fantastic!" Still, he was internally scoffing. What mess?? It always looked this... Nonetheless though, he must continue! "We haven't really worked on your reading as of yet...But for now, repeat after me, all right? We'll go slow at first, you have my word!" He took a step back and held the book out, and concentrated on the words. "The first line is old Slavic, I believe! Ahem! S tebou teraz som tu vždy! Try that! In the queen's tongue (God Bless!) it loosely translates to 'With you now I am here always!' Easy enough, m'lady?" He waited for her to repeat it and let out a small laugh. "Moving forward! In English, we have "Always be cautious with displays!" That serves as a warning, actually! And quite a teaser for those who cannot read the Slavic, hahaha! Uh...moving onwards! "Ale žiadam vašu prítomnosť predsa !" This means 'But I request your presence nonetheless!" Are you ready for this, Winnifred? One more line! 'Take this old room here, and clean up the mess! I made that one up myself! It doesn't too much matter if it rhymes or not, but I always think its fun!" He let out a large laugh and waited for her to repeat it.
"Quite a mouthful, huh? And children used to actually learn this! True, they didn't comprehend the language, but they could remember the few lines or so! Here, let's repeat it together, all right?
'S tebou teraz som tu vždy, Always be cautious with displays, Ale žiadam vašu prítomnosť predsa ! Take this old room here, and clean up the mess!'"

Fred: She stumbled through most words, sounding them out diligently until they were good enough. By the time Harvey got to saying the spell altogether she could speak with confidence. The last word left her mouth and she gazed around in amazement. At nothing. "Is... is that all then?" she asked, disappointed. She didn't hear an answer though when suddenly the desk drawers started to shake. They rattled open, papers, pens, and ink bottles flying out. Scattered books lifted off the various furniture, a slight glow around their edges, and various spills and stains were pulled from their places. Everything whirled around them, making Fred's head spin with delight. Tea cups and ties blew past her, stirring her hair, and she ducked when a pair breeches almost hit her in the face. Then, as soon as it had begun, it ended. Books, papers, everything, flew into their rightful places with whoosh. The stains and smudges disappeared with a sparkle. The room was left clean and organized, just like they'd ask the spirit.
Fred's smile widened greatly, showing off her sharp canines. "Harvey!! Did you see that! That was amazing, that was bloody magical!" she yelled. It was amazing to her, completely brilliant! Just when she was about to ask for another, she heard someone call her name. Her face fell as she realized that it was not a haunting ghost but her mother. "Oh noooo," she moaned.

Harvey: "Why yes, actually! As a matter of fact---" He let out a laugh as the room started to reorganize itself. As much fun as it was, it did pain him to see everything he painstakingly unorganized being undone. He held the book close to him, hoping the spirits would realize its place was next to him! He was so focused on holding the book and looking around that he didn't notice Fred duck, and was impaled by breeches to the face. He stood for a moment completely shocked, and then flung them into the air with annoyance, and watched them float back into drawers. As the lot settled down, he took a deep breath and glanced at Fred. At least she was having a good time!
"Of course it was, it is bloody magic!" He laughed. "But how will I find anything now??" Assuming she'd want to see more, he opened the book again and rifled through the pages, until the shriek made him nervously slam the book closed. "M-Mrs. Loveless is home quite early!" Oh dear. How awkward it would look to see him dressed as her husband... Still, the thought of what was under that vest made his neck hairs stand. "M'lady, you really ought to go see to your mother! Also... Please keep this all between us! Beg pardon but...The last thing I want to do is look unprofessional." He took a deep sigh. He had to admit, he felt pretty foolish asking this of her. Still, they did have some fun, didn't they?

Fred: She groaned again, giving Harvey a pleading look. He was having none of it though, so she waved him away. "Fine, fine, I'll keep it a secret. On one condition! More magic!" She gave him a hard look, barely getting by without smiling. Before she could crack, she whirled around and left the room.
*TIME SKIP*
Scrubbing the dishes was terrible. Possibly the worst thing she could imagine since the last chore she did. She set a dish to the side and sighed. There had to be a faster way to do this. A whisper in her ear reminded her of a certain spell she'd learned not too long ago. Her heart beat faster as she considered the possibility of it. Harvey would be so surprised if she pulled it off! Her toothy grin was reflected in a piece of silverware as she recalled the words.
"'S tebou teraz som tu vždy, Always be cautious with displays, Ale žiadam vašu prítomnosť predsa ! Take these dirty dishes here and clean up the mess!"
Yes, that should do it, she thought as she waited. Any moment now... there! The dishes began to rattle, pulling themselves up and out of the pile. One went in the sink and under the water pump, a floating dish rag scrubbing away. Perfect, this was going great! The dish was plopped down onto the other side of the sink, and another one flew up to be washed. The plate dipped into the sink and Fred watched happily. That is, until it flew out and hit her in the forehead. The shattered pieces fell to the floor, along with a few drops of blood. Fred raised her hand to her forehead. It came away dark red, which was no big deal for her. The plate was a big deal though, and she knelt to start sweeping it up. Luckily for her, she'd ducked at just the right time. A fork flew at the spot where she'd been standing and she watched in horror as it lodged itself into the opposing wall. Oh dear. "Harvey! Harvey are you home?!" she shrieked as she sped away from the attacking dishware.

Harvey: In one of the few cases where the door to his study was left open, he sat slumped in a chair reading the paper. The job openings were so scarce, and he was sure he wanted to take up another one to help out with the financing of the Loveless home, if he could. He was sure he could balance it with his current job, which, the thought of made him take out his lesson planner. He had struggled with many jobs before, he thought as he looked through today's plans, so it shouldn't be an issue. Fred's lesson should be starting in twenty minutes, shouldn't it? He should probably do some cleaning up now that he thought about it, and stood up and stretched. He could hear a plate smash in the kitchen, and then...a shriek?? He looked out the door in a second. He was being called for!! He was in the kitchen in just a moment, and before even realizing the situation, called out, "Quickly now, reverse the spell, and send these ghosts back down to H3ll!!!"
He waited for a moment before all the silverware stopped in it's tracks, some of it falling and smashing, others landing softly. He knelt over Fred, terrified and confused. "What... Are you all right, M'lady??? What... WHAT WAS THAT? Where you using magic without me?? Do you realized what could have happened?" He sighed and his chest collapsed.
"What time does Mrs. Loveless come home today?"

Fred: She tried not to look too upset as Harvey scolded her. She felt a terrible pinching in her arm and looked over her shoulder to see that another fork had avenged it's brother. She frowned and pulled it out, and the spot immediately started bleeding. This one was going take a while to heal. "Harvey, would you be a dear and find me the bandages? It seems I have a battle wound," she broke in. She added on, "And mother gets home at six i believe!" It was almost four now, she observed. Looking at the pile of dishes, she sighed.

Harvey: He winced and through a hand over his mouth. "M-m-m-M'LADY. DID YOU JUST..." He looked away for a moment. Just smelling blood made him want to hurl. Still not looking at her, he riffled through the cupboards until he came across some gauze rolled up. He rubbed his face nervously and shot a glance back to Fred, and then rushed over to the sink. He scrubbed his hands furiously and called back to her, "Just a moment, m'lady, then I'll see to your wounds!" I hope. Harvey had originally studied to be a doctor, it was true, but when he saw the... techniques commonly used, he had opted for education instead! To think of all the medical lectures he was asked to sit in (and all the amputations that occurred there...!) made him feel his stomach turn. He dried his hands and approached Fred with the gauze.
He sighed greatly and took hold of Fred's arm carefully. "M'lady, you really ought to know better..." he knelt down and covered his mouth again. So much blood... He tore the top layer of gauze off and used it to carefully wipe blood away, careful not to get any on his hands. He could feel his teeth grind. With the lower layer of gauze still rolled, he quickly wrapped it around the wound and pull tightly. When he was confident it was tight enough to be secured, he tied the last bit.
He was back up in a moment, and quickly returned the gauze to where he had found it, hoping no one would notice it had been used! With that, he took another deep sigh and held his palms to his arms, almost like a self hug! Where his hands shaking? They were! Blood was just...so, so gross.
