Haar: He raised an eyebrow. "Why, yes, of course!" Why didn't Haar have shortcuts? It was such a bother to float everywhere ALL OF THE TIME. He laughed, "I'm ready when you are, Candy Man!"

Cain: He grinned before taking his glasses out of his pocket (one lens still broken) and putting them on just to look over. He began to float out of the room, though occasionally he would take a step in air or land on the ground as they went down the first flight of stairs. How was floating so hard? Haar did it all the time! Crispin now, too! When they got to the Thanksgiving floor, Cain put a finger over his lips in a 'shhh' gesture before heading toward a (slightly-too-modern and vaguely-out-of-place) sliding glass door in the Thanksgiving common room, putting them straight into a copious amount of cornfields and wheat fields. Cain chose to float above them, looking around for something in particular. "Aha!" he breathed after a moment and made a sharp left turn toward what appeared to be a very well-hidden building. "Wait here for a moment," he said after they were nearly on top of it. Cain disappeared into the wheat field around the building and caused some sort of ruckus as he made his way in through a window and unlocked the door. He knew Haar could have probably climbed in through the window as well, but he was a gentleman, and would like to think that he could unlock a door for his friend. Cain pushed the door out so it bent back some wheat and waved at his friend. "It's in here!" He turned back toward the single-room house that had no furniture in it besides a beautifully-set table and some chairs, one of which he proceeded to sit down on. "Sit!" Cain clapped his hands together in a prayer-like fashion and said, "We have to say something we're thankful for. So, today I am thankful for the hope and inspiration that my dear brother, Haar, brings to me when I need it most." With this, Cain vanished in a cloud of gold magic that would take him to the main square in Thanksgiving Town.

Haar: He watched Cain carefully, only to be sure he didn't need any assistance. He floated behind him. Upon seeing the vast fields =, Haar immediately inspected them. So much different than anything in Halloween Town! Had Rufus grown this all himself? He stayed on the ground for a moment poking at various crops until rising up to Cain, and following him to the house.
He floated down towards it's door and waited for Cain to emerge, jolting at every sound from the inside. Haar was nearly about to rush in to make sure of Cain's wellbeing, but laughed instead when he saw him emerge from behind the door. "Did we...just break into Rufus' house?" Haar put his hands to his mouth. He wondered if maybe he was starting to be a negative influence on his friend...? Haar followed Cain in and sat, and started to examine everything on the table. Did they eat so much food here several forks and other utensils were absolutely necessary?? Arranged in such a fashion just for eating seemed a little...over the top. He watched Cain with fascination as he exploded into gold specks that filled the room. Haar coughed and tried to focus. Cain's was so heartfelt, so he assumed his must be, as well. Haar put his hands together, and considered how odd it looked to see his own hands in a prayer position. It was ironic, but pleasant in it's own way. He thought for a moment. "Today I am thankful for the...works and deeds of my mother throughout the entirety of my life, God bless her soul." As he felt himself start to dissipate, he couldn't help but to smile and add, "AND ALSO MY PET SPIDER, AMEN." He exploded into gold specks that filled the house.

Cain: When Haar appeared next to him in the middle of the square, Cain turned to him. "We're lucky- the square isn't so busy today. Sometimes it's packed so close that it's a wonder why they don't have a bigger town!"
Bartering stalls lined the square, and beyond them and past an enormous statue in the middle of the town of Squanto and May Flower holding hands, a path led to buildings in perfect rows with a plethora of furniture stores, restaurants, bakeries and silversmiths (specializing purely in silverware). Rufus's house was quite a ways out of town, and they could float, but Cain pondered finding a carriage of some sort to take them there.
"Anyway, before we get going, we should stop here."
Cain approached the statue of the founders. An inscription below it read,
WE ARE UNIFIED IN OUR THANKFULNESS TO GOD FOR OUR HOMES, OUR FAMILIES AND OUR FRIENDS
He nodded, a slight smile on his face before he turned to Haar. "Am I correct in assuming you've never been to this town?" he asked. A part of him felt like Haar might like Thanksgiving Town. He certainly did! If Cain were to live somewhere other than Christmas Town or the Academy (as unlikely as that might be), he imagined it would likely be here, and he figured if he and Haar were to each be fully comfortable in a town, it would be here. It was Fall, like Haar's Halloween, but they had values like Cain's Christmas.

Haar: With fascination his eye moved from building to building, reading whatever signs he could and staring down anyone passing by. It was so quaint and charming, most buildings resembling those built long ago. Even the wardrobes of the people seemed to be...oddly familiar. "Is the square usually busy?" He murmured, not really expecting a response. Haar had to be careful not to loose Cain, mostly because his instinct was to roam freely around. There was so much to look at, but still...something didn't quite sit with him right.
He followed Cain to the statue and hunched over to read the inscription. There was a strong sense of unification, he'd give them that.
His brow furrowed. "You'd be correct." Still, with the nostalgia from speaking of his past, and now seeing such a lovely town which almost resembled the towns he had walked in much, much earlier, he did feel somewhat at peace. Even with that peace and sense of strong unity, he felt halfly as if he didn't quite belong. The town seemed a little beneath his time...or rather, he was over it's time. He was very conflicted. He brought a hand up to his eye socket. "Candy Man, do you think I might...draw attention...to us?" He didn't ASSUME missing parts where...the norm in Thanksgiving Town, but he supposed it was possible. For now though, he seemed to be largely unnoticed.

Cain: He honestly hadn't even thought about if Haar would stick out or not. "Actually, I don't think it will be a problem," he said, only a bit more confidently than he felt. "They have a very wide range of townsfolk here. Also, we're about to head out of town."
Cain lead Haar toward a large forest that had extremely vibrant leaves on the trees, especially in shades of gold and orange. Haar was so hard to read sometimes, and it didn't help that his powers weren't quite what they used to be, before Aven (though that would change! He had already made that promise!). He didn't seem terribly uncomfortable though, as he would be in Christmas Town, for example, but he did seem distracted, as if he would very much appreciate a second eye about now. Now that Cain thought about it, in Halloween town, the trees were bare- at least every time he had been there they were.
He supposed he could just ask if he was comfortable, but that wasn't something he normally had to do. How did people ask other people how they were feeling? There's 'How are you,' but that's not quite right. Did people actually just say, 'How are you feeling?' Oh. Wait. They do say that.
"How are you feeling?" he asked slowly as they floated through the woods. The question was foreign-- it tasted odd in his mouth. Come to think of it, he wasn't even 100% sure that Haar would be completely truthful, but he supposed that wasn't quite fair. He had been even more truthful than he had to be less than an hour ago.

Haar: He nodded. The town was...so very, very nice, but also so odd at the same time. He did start to wonder if perhaps Rufus would allow him to visit often, he wanted to learn much, much more.
He followed Cain into the forest, and reached his hands out for the brightly colored leaves. When he had first come to the academy, he was amazed that the Forest of Doors' trees were so vivid, but these were something else all together. It really was beautiful. He turned to Cain, wondering if his face had given away how conflicted he was. Then again, if Cain knew, he probably wouldn't have asked. Couldn't he normally read emotions so well?
Haar smiled. Where was this hours ago? It would have avoided such a mess. Then again, he suppose good DID come out of it. Cain seemed to be on the road to healing, especially concerning Aven, so that DID help.
He looked back up at the trees. "I couldn't say. I am very at peace, but also very...disconnected." He closed his eye. He wondered if Rufus ever admired the leaves on the trees, or just simply walked past them.
"How are you feeling, my friend? How is your ankle?"

Cain: Nodding understandingly, he turned to look up at him when he asked the question. "Ah, fine. When I don't put weight on it, it seems perfectly fine."
He supposed Haar was satisfied with the answer, because he turned back to the leaves on the trees, which suddenly gave Cain an idea. The first time Cain had visited Rufus, he had showed him such joy with a childish game, and Cain couldn't imagine that Haar wouldn't enjoy it all the same. He looked around at the leaves covering the ground before he grinned widely and began floating around and scooping them into a pile. Cain felt Haar's eyes on him after only seconds of this, but he couldn't be worried about that right now. There was a perfect gap among these trees for a very excellent leaf pile.
"HAAR, YOU MUST DO ME A FAVOR," he said loudly and seriously once he was satisfied with his leaf pile. "IT'S VERY IMPORTANT- OUR VERY FRIENDSHIP RIDES ON IT."

Haar: He raised an eyebrow and approached Cain. "I admire the leaves too, but the trees need those for survival! You shouldn't really..." He trailed off. He didn't remember Cain loosing blood, and a swollen ankle shouldn't do...that to anyone...
Haar's eyes widened. "O-Our friendship!?" He leaned closer to Cain and whispered, intensely, "Candy Man, we both know I shouldn't light those on fire. I could burn this whole forest down!!" He stopped. He figured after the uh...war prep, that this was NOT Cain's intention. "What CAN I do for you, my friend!?"

Cain: Still just as serious as he had been (he was having to exert a phenomenal amount of self-control not to laugh), he pointed straight at the leaf pile and looked Haar straight in the eye.
"Jump in it. Right now."

Haar: "J-Jump? Right now?" He was so, so confused. He was beginning to assume this was some sort of Thanksgiving tradition but..."Right now?" He started back at Cain's ruthless, silent demeanor. Haar figured he wasn't going to get an answer. He looked over the leaf pile. "Jump?" Slowly, he approached it, eyes on Cain the whole time. The tapped the pile with the tip of his boot, making sure nothing was going to pop out (He WAS from Halloween Town, after all...) Finally, Haar looked back at Cain and sighed, and jumped straight into the pile, throwing leaves everywhere.

Cain: He gave Haar a few moments before he began to wonder where he was and why he wasn't coming out of the pile. Approaching it carefully, he leaned over the pile, still partially in the air, good foot nearing the ground.
"Haar?"
HAD HE MADE A HORRIBLE MISTAKE? SURELY NOT. BUT. YOU NEVER KNEW WITH HAAR??? He began going over a list of scenarios in his mind as to how he might be feeling. He didn't feel any negative feelings, but-- UGH. Why was this so hard??

Haar: ...
...
... "HAH!"
He jumped back out at Cain, throwing a helping of leaves at him, in as theatrical a way as possible. "That's how one would go about this, I'm assuming?" He laughed. He had half a mind to grab Cain into the pile, but didn't want to risk him landing on his ankle. Instead, THIS would have to suffice!!

Cain: A huge grin spread across his face shortly after he flinched away from the leaves.
"Yes! Exactly like that! It is a crime to not experience the joy of a leaf pile at least once every visit. It's law," he said in a very matter-of-factly tone.
After Cain was sure that Haar had properly enjoyed the leaf pile, he held out a hand to help him out of it before they continued toward the (now in-sight) Thanksgiving teacher's home.

Haar: He laughed again and took Cain's hand. Careful to dust off all of the remaining leaves (or as many as he could, anyway!) He started onto Rufus' house. "He lives here?" Haar smiled, "Why, it's certainty HIM, I suppose!" Just thinking about how Rufus' home was so close to all these beautiful trees made him almost jealous. Something had to be done to the trees around Haar's own home, eventually! No, he couldn't really plaster leaves to them... but he supposed they COULD be painted.
"Do you think he's home?" Haar floated behind Cain as he lead the way. "Does Prudence live with him, then?" He wondered if a premarital living arrangement would raise an eyebrow here, or even in Christmas Town. Back in his day, it certainty would have stirred attention. Then again, they were TO be wed, so perhaps that was a much different circumstance. He lowered en eyebrow. "His bear daughter would certainty be home by now, so I imagine SOMEONE must be home, at the least!!"
