Mint: The university was always fun to walk around! Granted, Mint was still attending Holidays Academy for the time being, she still liked to explore the other campus. Not to mention it had so many people who she knew! And a few she just hadn't met yet!
She came to the university to see no one in particular. She was mostly going a little stir crazy walking around just the academy for a few days. And Christmas town reminded her too much of the fact that she could be working on toys instead of having fun. And that was never fun.
Mint walked around the Christmas dorms. She walked in the same spot over and over trying to decide what to do next. She was never very good at thinking when she sat down.

Petal: She scurried into the building as fast as doll-ly possible. She closed the door behind her and leaned against it, silently taking exaggerated gasps of air. So many people! I-IN PLAIN CLOTHING. AND SHE...OH GOD. Even worse was her greatest fear---or at least, one of them--PRETTY MEN. EVERYWHERE. HOW COULD SHE HAVE BEEN PREPARED. She put a hand to her chest and sighed. Mostly though, everything was so overwhelming! Not being able to talk made it pretty hard to ask for directions, she noted. She picked up the few books she had thought to bring from the floor and looked around. Everything looked so pretty! There where bright lights and ornaments hanging from the sky, and even white and blue streamers!! Streamers where the best!!!! She took it in for a moment before she started to walk along, excited what else there was to see! It reminded her of the circus faintly, only happier and cleaned up! Not to mention, it smelled like cookies!!
As she was walking, she would be sidetracked every few steps to investigate cookies or popcorn strung around the hallway. Eventually, she skipped around until, a little ways down the hall, she could see another girl. She hid around the corner and snuck peeks. She seemed to be...walking in place? Was she okay? Petal lowered an eyebrow and carefully walked out of the corner. She tilted her head and approached the girl. What...was it that she was doing?

Mint: She walked a few more times, trying to think of anything to do. She looked up and noticed someone coming towards her. Surely they would be able to give her some ideas. She stopped walking and waved.

Petal: She approached slowly, unsure of whether or not she was even allowed to go in these common rooms!! She could very well get in trouble, for all she knew! On her first day, too! Oh no, oh no!! She jumped when Mint greeted her, and accidentally dropped all her books. She put her hands on her cheeks! Oh no, not the books!! She might get in trouble for that, too! She knelt down to pick them up, and the words "Oh No" Started to appear all around her. As she collected her books, she looked up in Mint. "Please don't kill me!" Appeared over her head!

Mint: She recoiled her hand when she saw the girl drop her books. Suddenly 'oh no' was popping up everywhere around the girl. Mint rubbed her eyes, to make sure it wasn't her eyes playing tricks. There were in fact words popping up! Before Mint could say how amazing that was, the words 'please don't kill me' appeared over the girl. Mint blinked. "Why would I do dat?! I made joo drop your books! If anybody gonna die here, it should be me!" She emphasized the 'me' with her hands pointed towards her chest. "..but really doe, I am so super duper sorry."

Petal: She looked up, absolutely confused. Who was 'Joo'  Petal looked around. There wasn't a Joo here? Where there even Jews in Christmas Town? Wait, no, she's still talking, opps!!! She got up, books in hand and shook a hand a Mint. "Don't die!" Appeared above her. She pulled her hand back to her body and looked Mint over. She was probably FROM Christmas Town! Oh!! The carnies told her about the little people! They usually worked at circuses too! Or...was that something else. She bit her lip. Oh! Pointed ears! That means elf! She put a hand to her forehead. "OH! You're an ELF!" She nodded. Elves usually didn't kill people, they made stuff!...She thinks. Petal held up one finger to ask for a moment, and set her books town. She pivoted her feet into a dance like pose and smiled. With her finger, she wrote in the air, "You make toys? I make words!" Haha, that'd get the point across, hopefully! Still didn't know who "Joo" was... |

Mint: She could not get over how cool this person was! Freakin magic words everywhere! She grinned and nodded when the person pointed out that she was an elf. Magic words were the best way to make a statement! She squealed when she saw 'you make toys?'. "Yes yes! You are super right! Wow, you must be like the smartest person EVER! Ya knew I made toys AND you can do the magic words. Joo must have lots and lots of friends!" She stopped for a moment. "I don't even know your name! I'ma Peppermint Elf!" She tried to pose, but it ended up looking quite silly.

Petal: She put her hands up defensively and smiled. Maybe not the SMARTEST.... But smart! She laughed silently and clapped when Mint posed (also silent!) Oh! She wanted her name, duhhh! In large cursive, she wrote out "Petal" in her prettiest writing and underlined it. Soon it poofed and covered both of them in glitter! She smiled and wrote out, "I like you, Mint!" As it dissipated, she tilted her head. "Who is 'Jew'?" She HAD established her name was not Joo. :I

Mint: She squealed. Petal was a super pretty name! Granted that would be a rather silly name for an elf, but Mint highly doubted she got that name from her parents getting a craving for flower petals. And magic words exploding into glitter was also awesome! Mint was a sucker for glitter. She squished her face. "I like you too, Petal!"
She wasn't quite sure what to make of her question. It was really odd."..jew?? Oooh, joo mean when I.." She coughed. "Joo as in you. I pronounce it funny somedimes.. I pronounce lotsa stuff funny. Not wrong, like SOME peoples may tell joo, just funny."

Petal: She smiled at Mint. Hey, she totally made a friend. TAKE THAT RINGLEADER. This was a personal victory! She proudly put her hands on her waist. Oh, she had a speech...thing! A lot of carnies said words in weird ways, too! That's okay, at least she could speak. TWO MUTES would be a much bigger problem! Petal wrote out "I like funny!" before it occurred to her, Oh!! If Mint likes my words, maybe I can show her something really cool! She glanced around for ideas, guessing she probably wasn't too much a fan of Valentine's Ville.... Oh! Petal knew SOME about Christmas from the carnies, anyway, and she did know of Santa!
She took a couple steps back and did a pirouette, and carefully spread out a thick black illusion over them. The words "Don't worry!" Flashed and turned into glitter, and as they did, a giant white Santa appeared, with four reindeer in front! Petal couldn't remember reindeers other than Donald, Vixen, Pluto and Mercury (or...something like that!) so she just stuck with four. The old guy zipped around them, with his reindeers prancing about, before the whole thing turned into another pile of glitter! Petal made a 'tada!' pose, but sadly looked at the ground right after. She kind of...made a huge glitter mess... Uh oh!

Mint: She could not handle this! Petal could do illusions and magic words?! Mint was in awe! She took a few moments after the reindeer turned to glitter to marvel at the whole thing. When she finally got over her amazement, she look at Petal. Then where Petal was looking. She gasped.
Petal had made so much glitter, it was like glitter snow! Mint flopped down on the floor and rolled around. "DIS IS THE BESTEST THING!" She was sure saying stuff like that a lot today!

Petal: Her eyes grew watching Mint...roll around in the glitter. Oh. Well, she was glad she was happy but uh...Was she going to be okay? She didn't break her, right? Petal kneeled down to Mint and blinked a few times. "Are you a student?" She cocked an eyebrow. She looked so young! Well...Okay, so did Petal, yeah...But still!!

Mint: She sat up. "Oh, not here, no. I am from Holidays Academy. I am gonna go here next year, doe!" She put her chin in her palm. "I godda lodda fwiends going here, doe! So you can have classes with dem! You'll like dem!"

Petal: Aw no! She wasn't going here! Petal's smile dropped. Oh well, she'd see her next year. And! If she has a lot of friends, she'd come back a lot, right?? Petal wondered who her friends were!! Maybe Mint could help her make even more! Normal friends!!! Petal got excited by the thought! She wrote out "Who?"

Mint: "Oh! Lotsa people! Like Franz. He calls me Hella and he got really cool hair. Can't miss im! Oh and Hans, he is a silly good. He always got a cool hat on and he got purplish hair and he is a goofball! Oh oh and Emma! She makes the bestest pies in the whole wide world! She even got a shop and everyding! OH OH! And my uncle is gonna be here dis year. His name is Cook. He got the world's cuties puppy ever and he makes lotsa cookies! Ooooh, you are gonna get along with all of dem, I just know it!" She got excited over just the thought! Friends meeting friends. It was wonderful.
