Geoffrey stepped back from the shop, admiring his handiwork. This would be the talk of all the towns! And he'd gotten it up so fast too, thanks to the help from Milo, Cook and John! It certainly looked like a party.
He clapped his hands together a few times before picking up his guitar and strumming it as he basically danced his way back in. "We are all prepared now!" he announced, eyeing the rest of the treats that had come from the bakers in the kitchen. "People could arrive at any moment! Thank you for helping me, mon amis!"
He DID of course hope Emma wouldn't be mad. But she rarely got mad- unless he accidentally got rhinestones in the pumpkin pie, naturally.
Hollow: "I'm pretty sure this is the place....the letters look the same on the sign..." Hollow scanned the piece of paper again and looked up at the 'Penlope's Pies' sign, hoping that he had not only read the sign correctly but also the hastily drawn map that the strange coated man had handed to him.
Milo: He patted his apron and smiled at Geoffrey. He really didn’t mind helping, and parties were fun! Cooking for parties was even more fun! He heard a buzzer go off and found the last batch of meat pies in the oven. While taking them out, he made a note to tell Emma to take the baking supplies for the party out of their paychecks. He was sure the other two boys wouldn’t mind!
John: Oh man was he gonna get in trouble for this, but the look on Emma’s face would be priceless! He’d just have to make sure no one told her they used shop ingredients. The look on her face would be terrifying then. As he passed by the shop door, he noticed a figure outside. Was that… He backtracked and opened the door, a smile on his face. “Hey Hollow! Come on in!”
Blade: She made her way through thanks giving town trying to remember which way she'd stumbled the last time she'd been here when she had gone through thanksgiving's town door after a long night in the human world. The other day at the academy Geoffery had shown up in some weird ass costume talking about a party or something at Emma's Bakery. As she turned what she was sure to be he same corner from 5 minutes ago she spotted Hallow. "hey, Hallow what's up?" she called
Eris walked into the shop, curiously. looking for anyone acquaintances of hers to talk with.
Cook set another tray of cookies on the already full table and put his hands on his hips to admire the workmanship. It wasn't long before he heard scraping at the table leg though and he looked down to see Snowball. "Hey, buddy, you can't do that!" He picked him up and set him on his shoulder. Lucky for Cook, Snowball had great balance.
Emma: The grocer’s was packed today! She could barely push through the people milling around, though half the problem might’ve been the small elf sitting in her cart. She had thought pushing Robin would be good for building strength, but she was starting to think twice. She kept pushing though, and called out to Robin, “Grab a few packages of flour please!”
Hollow: He slowly made his way towards the shop door, wondering whether he should go in when the door opened. Seeing it was John, he gave him a wide smile. "John! Hello! This weird person in a coat said there was a party here!" The scarecrow was about to enter the shop when he heard Blade's voice from behind him. Turning, he waved a waited for her to catch up. "Hello Blade! Did you find out about the party too?"
Blade: she smiled as she jogged up to her friend, nodding to John and bating some hair out of her way (she needed a hair cut). How could i not with Geoffery showing up in that weird outfit." she laughed, a weird half smile ahlf grimance appeared on her face at her next thought. "nearly scared the crap out of me and some thanksgiving kids who were out side doing some target practice."
John: “Weird wha…” As Hollow started talking to another newcomer, John scratched his head. Why was Emma’s boyfriend so weird? Though he really cou- OH WHAT. Who invited Eris?
Robin: “I got it~!” She took a handful and watched it fall into the cart. “Hey what’s flour even made out of? It looks like snoooow!” She looked at the labels but it was hard, seeing as she was now in the cart with 5 other bags. “Can we go down the candy aisle?”
Bernadette: Her cartload consisted of two chairs and a small table- she'd just finished them and needed to drop them off. She was turned around, facing the cart, meaning she was walking backwards-- not a smart way to go through the market on a day like this. "Excuse me," she said under her breath several times as she bumped into people. It was at this point that she tripped, and though her cargo was relatively okay, she was on the ground, ready to pick herself up before people /touched her/. "Ah, excuse me," she said to whomever's cart it was next to her. After standing up and ensuring her table and chairs were okay, she glanced over to see that they were familiar faces! She knew one of them was a Brookhaven, and one of them was... her name was some sort of bird. Right? Jay? Skylar? Partridge? No, those couldn't be right. "Oh, hello, um..." she trailed off. Surely she could remember ONE of their first names. Emily? NO WAIT "Emma! And.. I'm sorry, I don't remember your name...." So smart, Bernadette. So intelligent. Just. Great.
Eris noticed john and made her way over "Hi John.~" she proceeded to give a smirk and a small wave
Geoffrey: Now that people were trickling in, he decided to provide some proper entertainment. He set up in the corner and began to play and sing! /If you walk away, I'll walk away, First tell me which road you'd like to take.../
Robin: She looked through the cart, “Hey I know you! You’re Mr. Rufus’ daughter, right? I’M Robin!!” She let out some lights at her, “Pshewew!”
Hollow: "Oh? His name is Geoffery? Is he from Halloween Town too?" He asked, raising a non exsistant eyebrow. He hadn't recognised him and the way the coated man talked was strange but Hollow thought he must of been nice because he was giving out the party leaflets and inviting everyone.
Hollow: Glancing back, he saw that John was busy talking with Eris. Turning back to Blade, he smiled. "Would you like to go in?"
Blade: "hm? oh, no way he's from Valentines." she told him, shaking her head and having a moment of twisted humor at imagining that goofball, nice as he was, trying to last in Halloween. "you've never met him?" she asked as they stepped inside.
Emma: “Grounded grains and other things, I think,” she replied. She looked down at her list and continued, “Of course we can! I have to pay you somehow for helping!” Hearing a different voice, she glanced up. “Oh, hello!” Oh no, who was this? She was so bad at names. She smiled awkwardly until Robin mentioned Mr. Rufus. Right, John had said something about her! “Beerrrrnnn?” she said slowly.
Bernadette: She suddenly felt much less awful about forgetting their names. She nodded! "Yes." She glanced in the basket at Robin and at the ingredients. What would normal people say right now? "Doing a bit of shopping, I guess?" she asked, feeling dumb. What was small-talk. What was it. It didn't make sense and it was actually kinda dumb.
John: He saw her come his way and he quickly turned to glare at Geoffrey. Even if he didn’t invite her this was his fault. Oh god she was getting closer. Whywhywhywhywhywhy- “Hi,” he said grumpily. He folded his arms and looked to the side. “Welcome to the party, I guess.”
"Thanks." she said with a giggle. Seeing his annoyed expression her grin widened "What's a mater grumpy guss, not happy to see me?"
Hollow: As they stepped inside, Hollow's face looked puzzled. "He's from Valentine's?" he repeated, feeling more confused. Didn't the people in Valentines Ville wear red or pink? "He shook his head at Blade's question. "No, I don't think I've met him yet."
John: “What gave you that idea?” he grumbled.
Blade:"huh, odd, could'a sworn you were with me last time i ran into him. oh well" she shrugged batting away the topic with a non-commitable hand gesture. looking around she Spotted John, who's body language screams uncomfortable, talking to Eris. "think we should save john?" she asked Hallow, playfully bumping him with her elbow, pointing with her chin at the two with a smirk on her face.
Eris: "Aw don't be like that John." she chuckled
Robin: “Yeah!” She feel back into the cart on the flower bags, “We’re doing shopping so we can make food and then eat it! Why are you shopping? Are you going to make food? Are you going to eat it?”
Nora: She walked into the shop and looked around. Why were there so many kids? And that cloaked guy from earlier wasn’t here! Maybe this was the wrong party… She looked back towards the door, but it seemed too late now. She was stuck. At least there was food. She inched towards the snack table, around a small man and his dog, and was finally there.
John: “I can be like whatever I want!” he pouted. Okay, that sounded pretty dumb. He blinked at her and said slowly, “Do not. Do anything. To this shop. Okay?”
Martha: She checked the directions she had written down for the fourth time. This pie shop was a lot harder to find then she had expected. Granted her mind was wandering a bit over the excitement of challenging him. She just had to know if Geoffrey was as smooth as she had heard. And this was her chance! Granted, she could have probably challenged him at school so many times before, but today was going to be the day! However, after barging in she soon realized she may have to change her plans. So many attractive people! Life was so unfair. Or more so, undead life was so unfair.
Bernadette: "Um, well, I'm actually dropping off some furniture," she said, gesturing to her cart. "Then.. I don't know. Maybe I'll make some food. And... probably eat it?" She scratched the back of her neck and looked away. Was she being as awkward as she felt?? Probably???
Eris: "Oh? Do something? Why whatever could you mean?" she smirked once again, batting her eyelashes innocently.
Hollow: Hollow frowned as he searched his memories to see if he really did met this Geoffery before when she bumped him. The scarecrow gave Blade a questioning look before following her gaze towards the pair. Oh dear....John did not look happy at all. Did he and Eris have a fight? "Maybe we help?" He replied, not really knowing HOW to help.
Emma: She took in the pieces of furniture the girl was pushing and put a hand on her cheek. “Did you make those?” she asked.
Cook looked over... up... way up.... even more up.... at the girl who came over for the food. He was all ready to beat his gums at her! "Hey, doll! What brings you to a shindig like this? Food right? And how!"
Bernadette nodded shyly and inched the table closer to the center of the cart. She'd worked on them for a while, what with all the intricacies of the order. They wanted cornucopias and wheat engraved in, so she was particularly proud of this set and all the minute details on the legs.
John: He rubbed his face exasperatedly, and then set a hand on his hip. “Okay no, this is an actual warning for /your/ safety. Just please, go have fun and whatever and don’t hurt anything in the shop.” He really hoped she was listening. Emma didn’t play games with a frying pan.
Blade smiled, "follow my lead." she told him. Walking up by the pair she feigned an innocently curious disposition. "Hey John, Eris," she nodded respectfully to the other girl, falling into old habits of subterfuge easily. "so, where's Emma?" she asked carefully placing her self in away that separated the two if not minusculy. giving john a knowing look
Eris rolled her eyes at his warning, then looked to the new comer "Hello." she saw through blades attempts to 'save' john, she gave it a small chuckle.
Nora: She looked down at the small guy, a biscuit already shoved in her mouth. “Whaf? I dunf unfersand.” Maybe he was an exchange student! Was that even possible?
Hollow: Following Blade, the scarecrow walked over to the pair. Maybe he should say something also... "Hello Eris. Oh, I forgot to thank you for turning me human that time."
Robin: “Wowowow, you sell furniture?” She looked over it, “Oh!! Woodwork! That sounds really fun! Is it fun? I bet it smells really good!” It was also really dangerous! Maybe that was were Rufus had got his cuts? Robin always had wondered! Then again, Emma didn’t do woodwork, though! “Hey! Do you wanna hang out with us after you finish up? I’ll even let you ride in the cart! It’s like a sleighride!”
Blade: she paused for a moment looking between Hallow and Eris. "turned him Human?" she asked now genuinely curious
John: He frowned heavily as she dismissed him. Well. He’d warned her. When Blade came over, John looked away guiltily and mumbled something about the market and Robin. “They shouldn’t be back for a while though…”
Eris gave hallow a smile "You're welcome." she turned back to blade "Ah, yeah i turned him human for a little while, he seemed a little down that he couldn't experience things the same way everyone else was, so i thought i'd do him a favor."
Blade: "that's so cool." she said. "and nice of you."
Cook: "Oh! I guess I gave you an earful! Hope I didn't get a bird like you all balled up." He frowned. Sometimes people didn't understand him, but he was speaking English! Right? What he was speaking was English, right? He reached up to scratch his head when he accidentally knocked his glasses off his nose instead. "Yikes! My cheaters!" he exclaimed as his glasses fell to the ground. He knelt down to find them, but couldn't see an inch past his nose. He was under the table looking in a matter of seconds, leaving Snowball to run around on the ground.
Blade: "Hey, aren't we in the same magic history or whatever class?" she asked the girl. "i can't believe we've never really talked before today."
Emma: “Wow!” she gasped. “Say, how much would you charge for say, restaurant tables?” She leaned over the cart a bit to catch a better glimpse. “They’re so well craf- uH.” She wasn’t quite pleased by the prospect of pushing /another/ person in her cart! “Yes, you should come over after! Robbie, you can push her around right?”
Bernadette: "Yeah," she said quietly, fidgeting a bit. She covered up the scars on her hands subconsciously now that they were talking about her woodwork. "Oh, I don't know! Um..." She did the math in her head but it didn't feel right. She needed to at least give her a discount. "We can... talk about it! It would be reasonable, though." She blinked a few times at them and nodded. "Okay! Sure. I don't have any plans anyway." Just a few people, right? That wouldn't be so bad! And these two were nice! She'd seen them around before. Her dad was fond of Emma and it always looked like Robin had a ton of friends. Plus, the lights were pretty cool!!! "Let me just, um, drop these off really quick. Meet you in the candy aisle maybe?" Her dad had wanted some maple candies anyway, and she'd heard rumor of more honey candy in stock.
Martha: She leaned against the window, unsure what to do. So many beautiful people and so little time. She put her hands against her mouth and lightly beat them against it. She looked over the people standing around before deciding the babe near the food table and the nerd under a table were the best choices. She strutted over.
Hollow: "It really was," Hollow chimed in, "I never knew what it was really like to be human properly. I still don't understand some of it but it was really amazing!" The scarecrow glanced over to were John was, hoping that they had helped in some way. Hopefully, they might friends after this.
Nora: She gulped down the last bite of bread, her eyebrows knitting together. “Balled up?” She leapt back in surprise when his glasses fell off, and couldn’t decide whether to go after the dog or help! She decided to get the pup, since he seemed to have his “cheaters” under control. “Dog!” she called out. “Come back!” She ran after it, but it was so much faster in the small space!
Robin: “Yeah sure! I can push you both!” She was only like, 9% sure she could do that. Kinda. “But yeah, come and hang out with us! We’ll see you there!” She sat back down in the car amongst her new flour fort.
Eris looked over at him "Let me know if you ever need to turn back like that."
Petal: She hopped up the door happily! This whole town was cute but all the residents looked at her weird and this weird bird thing followed her around halfway and also she found some corn. But that wasn’t important because a masked man told her of a secret party!! Her only hope was that the pretty boys never met the masked man and it was still a secret, but whatever! She opened the door herself silently and slid right in! She spotted Eris right away, her magic friend! From that one time! She trotted over and snapped in her face to say hello!
Hollow: "Thank you I will! Oh! That's right. I ran off before I could show you and Petal a trick of my own." Taking his hat, he showed Eris that there was nothing inside before flipping it into the air and catching it again. He then pulled out an candied apple he had gotten for Bloody but he figured the crow wouldn't mind if he gave it to someone else. "Here you go." He said, giving it to her before leaving.
Emma: Smiling at Robin, she repeated,” We’ll see you there!” and started to push her cart again. “Alright, now we need sugar…”
Eris held the apple blinking slightly, when petal showed up she shook her head, then nodded "Hello petal."
Petal: She wrote “Hello!” out in the air and blinked at Eris for a moment. She really did love her pigtails!!
Bernadette: She turned and made her way to the back of the store to speak with her client. She accepted the pay and was counting it out on the way to the candy aisle, where she froze in front of a massive section of honey candy. She turned, fetched a basket, and went back to the aisle, doing her best not to take /every piece of honey candy in this entire store for herself/. She went to the maple candies first to pick some out for her dad instead. The honey candy could wait. It would still be there. /It would still be delicious/.
Snowball turned toward Nora just long enough to think: THIS MUST BE A GAME! Before running around wildly and weaving between peoples' feet. Cook, however, was still looking for his eyeglasses under the table.
Geoffrey glanced at his pocketwatch- they were still good! Shopping trips took like. A whole day right? Granted, he had no idea, but whatever. He stopped playing for long enough to take a break over at the table of snacks.
Martha: She watched the small dog running around. She thought about how cute it was until realizing something. Dogs really liked treats. Why, some dogs even liked bones. And that was...not good..at all.
Emma: Seeing that they’d finally retrieved everything, she pushed the basket to the candy aisle as promised. “Alright, what would you like?” she asked Robin.
Petal: She let out a silent sigh as Eris left. Making friends was so hard! She looked down at the floor until she FOUND A FREE DOG just running around? What a great party favor~!~ He was really fast but she knew a trick!! She ran after and made an illusion of walls all around the pup until it stopped! Then she picked it up and let it lick her face!!!
Robin: She threw her hands on her cheeks, “It’s like Christmas!” She laughed, “Just these would be great! She put a bag of gummi turkeys into their cart before she spotted Bernadette! “And hey look! There---…she is! Just in time too!”
Nora: That dog! It looked at her and kept running! How frustrating! She chased after it still, trying not to knock anyone over. And she almost did! Nora grounded her heels into the floor as she went flying up to the small doll girl, but when she realized she wouldn’t make it, she jumped over her. “Oh man, are you alright?” She blinked in shock for a moment when she realized that Petal had /caught the dog./
Emma: She followed Robin’s pointing and waved to Bernadette. “Hey! We’re ready when you are!”
Geoffrey accidentally kicked something, sending it under the table. Puzzled, he knelt to find out what it was when he found-- "Cook! Mon ami, what are you doing under the table?" He looked around until he realized what happened! He picked up the glasses and set them on Cook's nose. "Voila!"
Cook: "Oh, golly! Now I'm on the trolley! Thanks! I'm gonna go find my pup now!" He trotted off and Geoffrey shook his head. What was that guy ever saying? He knew a lot of languages, but he didn't think anyone knew whatever language it was that Cook spoke.
Bernadette: She waved and tried smiling, but it came out as more of an... almost half-smile. "Okay!" She stared at the honey candy and just started frantically grabbing one of each kind, and two of a few she knew she liked. "I'm ready!" She nodded and concentrated extra hard on not eating any of the candy until she paid for it.
Cook: He stopped in front of Petal and Nora and put his hands on his cheeks! "Thanks, dolls! You caught my pup! That sure was nifty of you!" When he saw that Petal and Snowball were getting along, he grinned. "If you want, he can stay here! Just make sure he doesn't go about causing a ruckus for any of these birds! Especially not the drugstore cowboy over there," he said, gesturing to Geoffrey at the snack bar. "Snowball tried to eat his topper once!"
Robin: “I’m ready to! So next stop, the pie shop, right?” She had finally completed her masterpiece- a small city consisting only of Emma’s groceries and a can of TAB soda she had founded. Robin had done it. She was finally the /leader./ “Let’s gooo!”
Martha: She stood in her place in terror for a moment, scared of a tiny puppy. Once it was caught, she relaxed. She looked around to try and figure out where the boy under the table was only to spot..him. She glared at Geoffrey before marching over to him. Today WAS going to be the day.
Petal: She raised an eyebrow at all these other people. Why didn’t they just take their free dogs? She blinked at Cook, and then at Nora. She was a doll too??? They had been acquaintances in PASSING and she never told her? She certainly wasn’t getting the dog NOW! She did notice that /the pretty boy/ was over in the corner doing /shady pretty things,/ and did have half a mind to let her party favor loose around him, but she didn’t want to succumb the poor puppy to that!
Emma: She quickly paid for the groceries and started out of the store. “Of course!” she assured Robin. At the same time, she tried to figure out how she was getting all of her bags home. She’d just return the cart later (like always)! “So Bern! How is the academy treating you?”
Nora: She shrugged and pointed at Petal. “Thank her, the little thing was too fast for me.” She was still a little shocked that Petal had caught the puppy so fast, and when she looked back at her she saw the girl glaring at her! “IIII think I’m gonna go get more bread if you want to tag along?”
Geoffrey continued happily eating a cookie when he turned to see a... skeleton? She looked familiar though! "Bonjour! And who do I have the pleasure of meeting on this fine evening?"
Bernadette: "Oh! Uh, fine! Kinda hard to.. juggle everything, though... Though I'm sure you know that!" Was she insulting her??? Bernadette, get your act TOGETHER. Cornbread stuffing, she was such a loser. "How's the... uh university?"
Robin: She walked with them, now out of the cart as her town had been laid siege. She was eating her candy though, so it was okay!
Martha: She clenched her fist. "I am Martha, and I assume you are Geoffrey. I came here to challenge you to a smooth off at the bakery but when I got here and saw all the attactive people I assumed I took a wrong turn and ended up in heaven! Because if I am not mistaken, I am already looking at an angel~"
Petal: She didn’t really like bread, and didn’t understand why a fellow doll would even eat it, but she’d give her a second chance! ThIs TiMe!! She took the puppy and walked over, and looked at all the food laid out. It was like, carnie food, but actually edible! Weird!
Geoffrey: Zut alors, she was smooth. He whipped his hat off his head and bowed low. "A seraph, to be exact, though I have to admit, you are outdoing me in angelic appearances this evening! I think I threw this party just so you could grace us with your presence." He didn't really know what was happening, but he could deal with this!
Emma: “Oh yes, I understand! And the university is just lovely, thank you! Though I do seem busier than ever! It seems I’m babysitting more than John nowadays… Oh, look the shop!” It wasn’t far, just a block or two away.
Bernadette nodded! She didn't think John needed babysitting, though. Wasn't he like, 18? Or 17? Or something? Weird. She glanced over at Robin. "How have you been?"
Martha: He was good! "Ah, but if this party is for me then you are quite the gift. I do have to admit, I assumed thanksgiving was a fall holiday and not a summer one for it is so hot in here. Or maybe it is just you."
Geoffrey: Sacre bleu... He had to think fast. "If it is me, then it is from the blush radiating off of my cheeks! Your presence has left the room smoldering!"
Nora: She looked over the glorious food, and grabbed the first piece of bread she could see. She hoped the doll wouldn’t judge her too much. But food was food and she wasn’t giving it up. After a few bites, she remembered her manners and pointed to the pile, trying to ask if Petal wanted any.
Robin: Where did all the candy go?? Didn’t she just have a full bag? Now she was gonna STARVE! She folded up the empty candy bag and ten-pointed it in the nearest trash reciprocal. She didn’t know who was Michael Jordan was, but he would have been pretty jealous of it. Robin smiled at Bernadette, “It’s been okay. I haven’t been very busy at all lately, actually. How’s Mr. Rufus?”
Bernadette scratched her neck and avoided the question only long enough to give Robin a piece of her candy. "Um, he's been better. But he's alright! Not like. awful. Or. Uh. He's fine." She should have just said he was fine, what was wrong with her???
Emma: They had arrived! She pushed the cart up and across the street, which took some effort! As she attempted to get it over the curb, she called out, “Robin, would you please get the door for me?”
Martha: She gasped. "I didn't realize the room was smoldering. I was too busy being in awe of the light in your eyes. For you are the sun to my moon, and I merely radiate some of the light that you bring to the world every day."
Robin: She thanked Bernadette and ran for the door, opening it grandly and then freezing in place when she saw all the people. She immediately looked for Emma to see if SHE INVITED THEM? She still held the door open, but was quit embarrassed to see all these people here! “Emma…”
Geoffrey: "Ah, but isn't the moonlight where-- oh wait, zut, I'm sorry, TO BE CONTINUED!" He dashed to the front door!! "Ma fleur!!" HE WAS SO BUSTED. "JOHNATHAAANNNNNNNN!!" He called behind him, just trying to get him to look in this direction.
Emma: She /finally/ got that cart over the curb, and pushed it through the- “WHAT IN THE MERRY MAY FLOWER IS GOING ON IN MY SHOP?” She saw Geoffrey run up and looked at Robin. “Hold my flour.”
Robin: She took it and called back, “Kick his Ass, Emma! I got yo flour!!!!”
John: He started towards the kitchen, nodding his head so Milo would do the same. Geoffrey’s idea, Geoffrey’s pain.
Geoffrey did the first thing that came to mind everytime he saw Emma! He dipped her and kissed her-- only on the forehead this time because he was afraid. Kind of terrified, really. "Um. Surprise?" He looked behind him to see John and Milo AND COOK ALL RETREATING. TRAITORS.
Bernadette blinked and took a step back. So.. many people.... She'd been expecting the three of them. Not... however many were here. Maybe only like six, but that was DOUBLE. Also she was pretty sure she saw more than six? But people were moving so she wasn't sure? She almost tripped as she backed up off the curb.
Emma: Oh no, no amount of affection was getting him out of this. She pressed on, jabbing her finger into his chest. “YouUUUU! YOU HAD A PARTY IN MY SHOP, WITH MY FOOD, /AND YOU DIDN’T INVITE ME/ HOW. COULD. YOU.”
Geoffrey took his beret off and looked down at her with as much guilt on his face as he could put there. "I... I didn't want to blind them by your radiant presence." He would try everything. Absolutely everything.
Martha: She wasn't sure how smooth contests worked, but the sudden interruption confused her. She decided to watch what Geoffrey was doing. Wow, the girl talking to him was maaad. Martha put a cookie into her mouth before watching the carnage.
Robin: It was really hard to tear away from the entire scene, but she saw Bernadette turning to leave, and ran over to see if she was okay! “Whoa hey, watch you step please! Please be careful!”
Bernadette: She nodded frantically and edged toward a streetlamp, trying to use it for cover! "S-sorry, I just... wasn't expecting... so many people......"
Emma: She grabbed his neck scarf thingy and pulled him to her level. “Groceries. NOW.” She took the opportunity to yell over his shoulder, “JOHN, MILO, AND IS THAT COOK’S DOG? YOU BETTER GET OUT HERE AND HELP.”
Geoffrey: He sighed and pocketed his beret while he picked up several bags and hauled them to the kitchen. Note to self, shopping trips only take a couple hours. Cook, meanwhile, was edging out of the kitchen, looking absurdly guilty and also helping pick up some bags. He was going to say something as an apology, but Emma's face was still pretty heated. He decided it would be best to just haul some groceries. Even though John and Milo probably could have gotten them all done by themselves.
Petal: She shook her head no. She was watching the pretty boys get yelled at, and it was far more than enough fuel she’d ever need!
Robin: “Yeah, neither did we! Hahaha! It happens though. A lot more than you’d think!” She realized that probably wasn’t a very smart thing to say, “Uh, only when you’re friends know you well enough that they know you’d really like it, I mean!”
Bernadette looked over at her, actually feeling a little reassured. "Emma seems pretty mad though..."
John: “Ohhh turkey bones,” he hissed. Him and Milo shared a look before slowly emerging from the kitchen. John put his hands up and smiled at Emma. “Oh, Emma! We threw you a surprise party! Prettyyy great, yeah?” He could kiss his paycheck goodbye.
Milo: He tromped over to the cart guiltily and grabbed some groceries. He entertained the idea of turning into a jackalope and running away, but that would be unfair to the others.
Emma: She sighed heavily and looked at the others. “Well, I guess this stuff can’t go to waste. You guys can stay!” She looked behind her and saw Bern retreating. “Ah, sorry if I scared you! It’s fine, please come in!” She looked towards the food table and felt like she really needed some pie.
Geoffrey went out for another round of groceries to find that Milo and John had gotten the bulk of them and there wasn't anything else, actually. He moved back to the kitchen and instead started putting them away with the others. It wouldn't take long, but hopefully it would take long enough for him to think of his next plan.
Bernadette edged out from behind the lamp post and moved inside, looking around before putting her hood up. She was careful not to shove her hands in her pockets (she didn't need to be a bear, that would just attract more attention) as she edged toward the snack table. Luckily she was short enough she could sneak by basically everyone without a second glance.
Robin: She watched Bern walk away and instead approached Emma. “Can I help with anything?”
Emma: She nodded seriously at Robin. “No, just go have fun. I just need pie.” She looked over at Nora and Petal, the former backing away and gesturing towards the table.
Cook: "I guess that's it!" He hopped up on the counter and kicked his feet. "So... Geoff's girl is pretty mad. Any ideas?"
Martha: She wasn't quite sure what to think of this party. Granted, it wasn't the worst one she had ever been to, but it still gave a pretty bad vibe. So Geoffrey threw a party without telling his girlfriend? ..didnt they have a frat house to have parties..
Geoffrey avoided Cook's gaze as he took a few vases down from the cabinet and began filling them with roses of any color he could make. Most of them were seraph roses, sadly, even though he knew Emma preferred yellow or gold roses. It wasn't his fault! He tried so hard. Just, when it came to Emma, it was increasingly harder to make anything other t
han seraph roses. He knew what that meant, but he tried not to dwell on it.
Milo: He tapped his chin before suggesting, “Apologize?”
Cook rubbed his chin, as if stroking an invisible beard. "It's so simple... it just might work." Geoffrey was already heading out and setting vases down in places before coming back into the kitchen and trying to find candles and candleholders.
Martha: Alright, so now there were three new people at the party. There was a tiny little cutie who reminded Martha a little bit of herself as a child. SHE WAS SO CUTE. Then there was the..elf? She looked like an elf. Martha really couldn't tell. And of course the girl who was so mad. Granted, who wouldn't be mad about a party being thrown at their place against their knowledge? ..and Martha's parents didnt count. She decided the best course of action would be to shut up and just keep her mouth full of cookie.
