Bernadette: Though the Halloween basement was too... well, spooky, for her liking, she knew if she didn't come down here to find Sophie then she may never finish unpacking, and therefore never come to the Thanksgiving floor to see her. And that simply wasn't acceptable! They hadn't really seen each other at all over the Summer, what with Sophie being useful in the war and Bernadette... being... not that.
Though the nameplates hadn't been put on the doors yet, Sophie's door had been opened, luckily. She recognized it thanks to the boxes outside- one of them was open and had frilly dresses piled so high that it was a wonder all of her clothes weren't in the one box. She itched to start taking them out and organizing them first by color and then by length. Taking a look down both hallways and over her shoulder, she sat down on the tiled floor and began sorting. It was just.... so disorganized. If Persi were here she would have asked him to stretch his arms out so she could use it as a coat rack, and he probably would have, but he hadn't arrived yet, so she made do with spreading a sheet she'd found in another box on the floor and laying out the dresses that way. She was taking up most of the hallway and had received a few looks from other Halloween students as they hopped over her work space or went around it (barely), but she couldn't bring herself to care.
She stood up after sorting through the box and eyed her sorting carefully. Was this dress at the end more purple than the one before it? Did they need to be switched? She tried it both ways and still hadn't decided when she heard a disgruntled Sophie presumably upset at her dresser drawers. Bernadette took the edges of the sheet and pulled it into her room a bit before knocking on the ajar door and peeking inside.
"Sophie? Everything alright in here? Can I come in?" The room was still a mess from what she could see, presumably because Sophie was still trying to find places to put everything. Why she insisted on bringing this much stuff with her was a mystery to Bernadette, but it gave her something to do while waiting for classes to officially begin, so she guessed it worked out.
