Kale bounded out of his sea foam green and ocean blue room and down the hallway. He batted at the hanging mobile of seashells (reminiscent of a chandelier) hanging in the main hall. Probably when they got more male representation of this town, they'd have to tone down the sea themes, but while it was just him and Fish Bone, they could decorate the place however they wanted. As he rifled through the cupboards and icebox, he pulled on the blue shirt that was in his hands. He finally grabbed a fish out of the icebox, rolling his eyes at the various seaweed salads, dried seaweed, and seaweed sandwiches his regrettable fraternity brother ate.
He threw open the door and walked out into the sunshine of a brilliant day. He bit right into the fish, expertly picking most of the scales off with his teeth and spitting them on the grass. His mother would have scolded him for an hour on his atrocious manners, but she wasn't here right now. He made his way over to the dorms, a spring in his step and a glint in his eye. This was a very big day! He was on a mission, and he needed an accomplice.
He walked right up to her room and knocked loudly, finishing off the last bit of fish, leaving him with just the tail, as he had been discarding the bones along the way. Oh, he could hear his mother saying, but the tail is the most nutritious part! Ppppbbbbbbbtttttthhhhhhh. He ruffled his hair with one hand as he waited for the little guppy to answer her door.

Opening her door, Bev greeted the larger merfolk with a grin and a cock in her hips. Though the knock had been a surprise, the visitor on the other side of her door was one to be expected. With a casual wave despite him standing less than two feet in front of her, she rested her weight against the edge of her door, crossing one leg over the other as she stood at an angle.
"Oh hello, small fry!" She purred, looking him up and down. "Anything new in the big blue?"

Kale allowed himself inside, tossing his fish tail into her trash can. He turned to look at her, taking just a moment to appreciate her cascade of hair and the curve of her hip before moving on to the topic at hand.
"I have a very impotant mission of utmost secrecy. I trust no one but you to accompany me on this historical event." He said grandly. He crossed his arms with a smile, waiting for her response.

"Oh really?" Bev asked, raising a sceptical eyebrow. "Well am I allowed to be made privy to the intimate details of your elaborate scheme, or am I just along for the ride?"
Though she was fishing for details, she had a smirk on her face and had crossed her arms to match his. Whatever it was, she was already intrigued and it was pretty much 99.9% likely she'd agree to tag along for the fun of it.

Kale: "I have been informed of a RIVAL group that has arrived on campus to CHALLENGE the awesome of ichthys. As fish bone is a fish bone, it is up to me to restore our honor and our rightful place as the very best. I require someone with cunning, agility, and devastating good looks to be my partner. You, naturally, were my first choice. So, will you join me on my noble quest?" He ended his little speech with a wink, sidling closer to her as he did.

'Does he mean those guys the Halloween teacher - who looks younger than us, what's up with that? - is always picking on?' She wondered, trying to surpress a laugh at the idea of those guys being a 'threat' to anyone. Maybe if they were fifteen year old girls, they'd be a threat to their level of dramatics. But luckily, they had found a way to age past that point successfully.
But still, if it's what he wanted to do, Bev was down. Besides, she'd been right and it DID definitely sound like a good time to be had! Also, he had showered her in compliments, which had to at least earn him fifteen minutes of her accompaniment on this mission.
"You're on, Sea Prince!" She agreed enthusiastically, winking back at him and bumping his hips with her own. She pulled her hair back and up, tying it off with one of the strings wrapped around her wrist. She wasn't sure how much physical activity was going to be involved in this endeavour, but still. Better to be safe than sorry.

Kale: "Excellent! Follow me!" He led her out and down the hallway, passing through at least three projected rainbows and walking through odd patches of clover. At least there were no real leprechaun rainbows here. Those were tangible, and would have had to be moved by hand.
"So, I have done some reconnaissance and discovered a key weakness in one of their members, and that is what we will be exploiting today." He said, opening the door for her.
He led her across the courtyard to the Greek block, where all the fraternities and sororities were housed. He walked along the row until he got to a shockingly white and pink one, which seemed happily nestled on its own private cloud, glowing a soft sunset golden rose and floating at least seven feet off the ground.
"Welcome to Omicron Omicron Nu, a hive of scum and villainy." He said, waving a hand dramatically.

"Woah, okay!" She almost stumbled, slipping on a pair of flats instead of heels for once as he charged out of her room. She had kind of wanted to deal with the recently devoured remains of a fish in her trash can beforehand, but she supposed that could wait for now. His excitement was definitely contagious, Bev decided as she hurried to keep up with him. After grabbing a hold of his arm, she slid her reach down his wrist until her hand slipped into his. Well, already this was certainly a way to spend a day, she thought with an affectionate roll of her eyes. Listening to him speak, she went through the door ahead of him with a grateful smile, before waiting for him to continue to lead the way again.
Once they reached their supposed destination, Bev tried a little unsuccessfully to stifle a snort of laughter. Covering her mouth with her hand, her shoulders shook slightly as she muffled her giggles.
"Really?" Recalling the mention of reconnaissance, now Bev couldn't shake the mental image of Kale hiding out outside of the flamboyant frat house, looking like a sore thumb of masculinity compared to his surroundings. Had he really scoped out this place, before apparently singling out a specific target? What on land could he possibly have in mind to do to these poor fools?
Regaining control of herself after a few deep breaths, Bev hustled him over to a spot she thought would be relatively out of sight and forced him to crouch down with her, trying to make the two of them inconspicuous. Which was pretty hard, all things considered, because again, Kale was Kale in front of this place, and she had green hair that only stood out more when nearby all this pink.
"Now that we're here," she gestured to the floating hive of scum and villainy behind her, failing to keep a serious face as she broke out in a grin, "I don't suppose it's time for you to fill me in on the plan? Or is it so dangerous, I must be kept in the dark at least partially, least my delicate womanly wiles get the better of me and I swoon into a faint in your arms?"

Kale: He grinned as she held his hand, platonically or not. He grabbed it again once they were outside, only letting go with a twist of his fingers once they arrived. He laughed at her comment. "If I thought that was a plausible scenario, I would've already told you, gold fish." he said teasingly. He got serious again, or tried, succeeding about as well as he had before. "Up there," he said, pointing to the second floor, "Is a collection of great value. A collection beyond imagining. And we're going to take it, take it all." he said, rubbing his hands together villainously.
"Of course the trick remains to get up there, but I have discovered a trick." He stood and walked calmly in front of the house, in plain sight, and after a few seconds a lovely set of cloud stairs descended and lightly touched the ground. He mounted them, gripping the pink cloud railing with one hand and turning back, offering the other to her. "I understand this may seem too great a danger, but I assure you, the reward greatly out weighs the risk."

Bev was boggled as the set of fluffy pink stairs appeared out of seemingly nowhere. Now THAT was a way to enter a place! So much more impressive than a scruffy mat that said 'Welcome' on it. Hurrying over, she hesistated at the first step, looking up at Kale nervously.
"If I put my trust in you right now, you better promise I'm not going to fall." She warned, before she grabbed Kale's hand and stepped on the first cloud trepidatiously, breathing a sigh of relief when it managed to hold both of their combined weight without any sign of strain what-so-ever. Bouncing up the next couple steps with much less stress, she lowered her voice to a whisper out of compulsion.
"So, what next? Are we just going to outright knock on the door??" She asked with a tiny laugh, raising her eyebrows at the man by her side.

Kale: "No, knocking would imply someone is here. I happen to know that both soccer practice and baking club are happening at this very moment, which accounts for all the members." The poufy haired baby one was often commandeered to be a whisking boy in the baking club. He simply turned the doorknob and it opened. He shook his head with disappointment. "Their poor, fragile little trusting souls will soon learn." he said, leading the mergirl into the house. Everything reeked of perfume and there were candles everywhere and was that a rose on the table this wasn't a sorority what was wrong with these people? He shook his head in disgust, wandered into the kitchen, stole seven cookies off a plate, and continued on down the hallway.
Trying not to gag at the perpetual sight of lace and heart decorations, he finally found the bedrooms. The first one he opened he knew almost instantly was not correct, as it smelled of smoke and had a surprising number of still babyish pastel colors around. He searched it anyway, only getting surprised when he opened the closet and was confronted with a... pink... dog. He simply shut the door and turned away without a word, passing Bev on his way out and mumbling, "Nope, next one."
He made his way through two unused bedrooms before finally finding the right one. "Jackpot," he announced, grinning triumphantly. It was clearly owned by two Valentine's boys, one decidedly sloppier than the other. But Kale's eyes were fixed on the large collection of paintings hanging on the wall above one of the beds, all signed with indecipherable, unbearably loopy handwriting. All that could be made out from them were the letters "G" and "B".

"Ahh, now the reconnaissance reveals itself." Bev murmured teasingly, "Should I bother questioning the potential moral ambiguity of breaking into the home of someone who doesn't bother to lock it?"
She supposed that, at least, they had nothing to worry about as they wandered through the frat unthreatened by the presence of any residing members! Still, as she took in the inside decor that was just a pink and fluffy as the outside, she couldn't help but wonder what exactly the people looked like that stayed in this place... Kale had said guys, hadn't he? Her nose crinkled at the overwhelming scent of perfume and scented candles and... and... She sneezed, covering her face with her hand as they trekked through the sorority building.
She had started an internal count of every scented candle she could spot as they looked for their prize - 23, 24, 25... - when Kale announced they were victorious - almost. Bev stared up at the paintings hanging on the wall, above the luxurious-looking bed in the way, and tilted her head to one side in consideration. Kicking off her shoes, she hopped up on top of it, squeaking in surprise as she sunk into the covers more than she had anticipated. Though she wobbled for a second, she quickly regained her balance before springing her way towards the wall, hair bouncing behind her as she went.
"Ready?" She asked when she made it to the wall, hands poised on the frame of a painting to remove it from the wall and hand it over to her cohort.

Kale: He tried very hard not to get distracted by the CUTEST SNEEZES IN THE WORLD. Watching her bound over to the bed, he enjoyed watching her bounce for a moment. The second he realized she was precariously balanced, however, he rushed forward, not wanting to miss his opportunity. He quickly steadied her, hands comfortably on her hips.
"You okay there, guppy?" he asked, eyes twinkling. He nodded in affirmation of her question, but he only let go of her once she started handing down the paintings. If forced to comment, he'd admit that they were pretty good, but what was much more important was their value to the candy-colored ringleader of this bizarre brotherhood. He stacked the paintings carefully on the floor, not wanting to actually damage them. It wasn't long until the stack was much higher than he'd counted on. The kid had been busy, it seemed. "You almost done up there?" he called to Bev.

"You tell me." Bev remarked in reply to his hands resting on her hips, shooting a wink over her shoulder as she started lifting the paintings off the wall and passing them down. She was relieved they weren't very heavy, but there were so many of them. Didn't Kale say something about these frat boys being involved in club activities too? Geez, where did these kids even find the time to do all of this? It almost made her feel a little lazy. But then she also remembered she was guaranteed to be ten times more fabulous than any and all of them combined, so that made up for it.
She spared a second to consider each painting as she removed them, idly noting more often than not the same subject matter seemed to appear. Or rather, the same object of attention, as it were.
"Pretty girl." Bev observed, having come to the last of the collection, "Painter's obviously fond of her."
It was a charcoal portrait, a bit on the smaller side. And from what Bev could tell, it looked like one of the first depictions this fellow must have made of her - the lines weren't as precise and confident as they appeared to be in other, presumably later attempts.
Poised against the wall, Beverly twisted slightly, one hand planted against it for support as she looked down at Kale. Her hair was falling down her side in long emerald waves, until she moved it out of the way with her free hand to plant her hand on her hip instead.
"Are we, like... stealing this dude's non-verbal love letters, or something?" She questioned, raising a skeptical eyebrow.

Kale: He shrugged, unconcerned.
"Maybe. I know he draws other girls though, like I've seen at least two. This one does seem to get special attention though," he admitted, holding the portrait up for inspection. She looked familiar, but he couldn't put his finger on it. Maybe she went to the university? There were only a few paintings left, and the stack had reached almost to Kale's thigh. He heard voices and rushed over to the window, sticking his head outside. The poufy one and the quiet not-punky one! He stumbled back in. "Kelp, kelp, kelp. Hurry up, they're coming!" There was a back way out, right? He thought there was a back way out, he sure hoped there was a back way out. He gathered up as many of the paintings he could hold, which was fortunately more than half the stack. They were more cumbersome than heavy. "C'mon, guppy, it's time for us to be anywhere else!"
