John: "Great, sounds great!" He peeked around nervously as he followed Hollow. The uninterested looks the residents gave the two looked angry to John, and he ran to catch up as Hollow asked his question. He turned his attention to the other boy and replied, "Yeah, I guess so. My girlfriend lives there, so I travel often to see her." He hoped the conversation would distract him from the spooky citizens and tried to continue it by asking the same.

As a ghost of a grey cloaked woman floated by the two students, Hollow shook his pumpkin head. “I’ve never been outside of Halloween Town before I started at the academy. Well...I have but I’ve never been to the other holiday worlds yet. But I’ve heard a lot about Christmas Town from Mr. Jack when he went there and Mint has been teaching me about it as well! Like how the Christmas trees are like sign posts for Sandy Claws and you decorate it so that he can’t miss it!”
Hollow grinned at John, proud that he remembered what he had been told.

John: He nodded in agreement. "Yeah I've heard that one too! Do you know about how elves only eat sweets?" He had learned that one the hard way. The way Hollow had said he hadn't been to the other holiday worlds peaked his interest. His curiosity got the better of him and he asked, "So you've been to the human world?" He could only assume that's what he meant, seeing as there was no other known worlds.

The scarecrow gave John a surprised look. “Really?! I didn’t know that one! Oh! Do you know about the plant that they hang near doors or in the middle of the room? I’m not sure what it’s called but if you and someone else stand under it, you are supposed to ‘kiss’.....I think.....I’m not too sure what that means though.”
Hollow stopped as his carved features turned to confusion. Placing a gloved hand on his head, he slowly shook his head again. “I....I don’t think so....I was always living outside of Halloween Town since I first woke up so I always thought that I was in a separate part of it....” He replied, a little unsure of himself.
Hollow was almost certain that he hadn’t been to the human world. No, he was really positive that he hadn’t. But there was some tiny forgotten part of him that made the scarecrow think there was more to it than that.

John's face turned pink as Hollow described the plant. He was too familiar with that, thanks to Emma hanging it every in the shop during one of Robin's visits. "Yep, I've heard of that one." He wasn't even going to try to explain what a kiss was, so he moved on to the next subject.
"Huh, you don't say. So you just woke up one day then?" He really hoped his questions weren't too personal, but he couldn't think of anything else to talk about. And he needed to talk to keep himself distracted.

The scarecrow shook his head to clear it. Whatever the thought he had was it was gone now. Oh well, he could figure it out later. As his usual demeanour returned, he started walking again. His arms swung a little as he walked.
“Well, that’s what it was kind of like.” he answered. “I don’t remember a lot about it. I remember that the pumpkin sun was rising and that my creator was there. I think I might have fallen down from the pole because I was on the ground when my creator showed me the coin trick.”
Hollow glanced around at their surroundings before turning to John with a grin. He pointed out the large black, gnarled gates as he pushed one of the gate doors open. It squealed loudly as it swung open inwards.
“Here we are! This is the entrance to the graveyard. It’s a short walk from here to the trees now.”

John furrowed his eyebrows. He didn't really understand what Hollow was saying, but he figured it was a Halloween town thing.
He turned his attention to the entrance and shivered yet again. This place was just so creepy! And that squeal!
"G-great!" he replied, happy to have made it this far. "Oh hey, you said you've never been to Christmas Town before. Why not come through with me and check it out? It's not too bad!" Especially compared to this graveyard!

Quickly turning to John in panic, he waved his gloves in front himself. "Would that be allowed? I-I mean, is it okay if I could?"
Hollow wanted to say yes, he wanted to say yes badly. After hearing about it from the Christmas and Halloween students, the scarecrow was fascinated by stories of baby lights on strings and the place covered in snow all year round. But he had only the permission from the teachers to visit Halloween Town, not Christmas Town!
"I wouldn't want to get you into trouble just because of me, that wouldn't be fair!" Hollow added with worry clearly on his carved features.

"Um, yeah?" John said, really confused. He went to Christmas Town all the time! Unless there was some rule he didn't know about... well honestly he'd probably break it either way.
"I don't see any problems with you going," he said. "Actually, it'd be pretty cool to see your reaction, haha." In the near distance he could see the outline of the trees through the fog. "And you've come all this way, so why not?"

The scarecrow’s yellow carved eyes gazed over towards the trees that kept disappearing and reappearing through the fog. It didn’t seem real that those same trees hid doors to other whole, different worlds. Nodding slightly to himself, Hollow gave John a smile.
“Well...If it’s okay with you, I would like to come. Thank you.”

"Great!" John cheered. "I just have to warn you though, there's a ton of snow and candy over there. I'm not sure if you're like the Halloween teacher, but apparently he's repelled by that stuff."

"He doesn't? Poor Mr Grimm, it must hard on him not to enjoy it without getting sick." He didn't know Mr Grimm very well, apart from that he was going to be in his class when the year started. The scarecrow was surprised about it though, given that everyone else in town had really enjoyed the Christmas stuff. On the other glove, Hollow knew that some of the other monsters got ill from being around silver or wooden stakes. Maybe it was like that for Mr Grimm too.
A childish grin erupted across his carved face. "I can't wait to see snow again! It was so different and weird but it was really fun too!" Hollow said happily as he danced ahead of John.

John nodded in agreement. "Honestly I'm not sure how he's around Robin all the time with all the Christmas spirit that comes out of her!" He glanced a door through the trees and was glad they were so close.
John laughed as Hollow did his dance. "Yeah, I guess snow is pretty cool. Man you should've seen this one time, Robin, Emma and I made this huge- oh! We're here!"
(Sorry I took so long to respond, I'll try to be quicker next time!)

Hollow: "We are?" Hollow asked, pausing in his dance as he glanced around at the surroundings. His carved eyes looked curiously from one door to the next. The scarecrow hadn't paid much attention to them before, the only one that he had been using was the jack 'o' lantern door. Now that he was looking at them, it made it even more mind boggling how there were other towns like his (well, not exactly like Halloween Town...) just behind six, very different, decorated doors. "They must of been closer than I thought they were." He mused out loud before spotting the door shaped like a Christmas tree. Pointing at it out to John, Hollow eagerly said, "That's the Christmas town door, right? It looks exactly like the trees that are sign posts for Sandy Claws!" Before he could say anything further, a feminine, raspy voice from behind the pair called out, "Excuse me but I believe you dropped this." (Don't worry about it! I'm pretty much a slowpoke anyway  ) |
