Geoffrey expertly ordered encornets farcis aux crevettes, and asked the gentleman if he would be so kind as to bring them a sliced baguette for the table. Finally, before he let him leave, he assured him that they would be having dessert and that créme brulée would be lovely, assuring him that no one in their right mind could ever dislike a dish like that.
The waiter thanked them and scurried off, with a promise that the baguette would be out soon. Now that business was over and their menus were gone, Geoffrey turned his full attention to Emma.
"So," he said, his voice taking a bit of a lower pitch as he reached for his glass of wine, "what's your sign, ma fleur?" He could help it! He was so used to acting this way that he found himself slipping into it almost instantly.

Emma: So much food! She wondered if she'd be able to eat it all, but the emptiness in her stomach assured her that she would. She smiled at the waiter as he left, and kept smiling as red crept up her face. "Uh, Gemini I believe?" Why in the world was that important? "And you?"

Geoffrey smiled widely at her. "Scorpio. Did you know that Gemini and Scorpio can be unbreakable? Because I, personally, find that fascinating." Despite the semi-rude table manners, he leaned his cheek on his hand as he said this, gazing at her intently before breaking away and looking out the window at Parisian Valentine-Ville, alight with pink and warmth in the evening. Sunsets in Valentine-Ville were not to be matched, Geoffrey was sure of it.

Emma: Laughing nervously, she replied, "Oh, how interesting" She looked at the table, trying to come up with another topic. She caught him staring out the window and noticed the lovely pink outside. A sudden question came to her and she repeated it out loud. "You said 'they' live in the estates, meaning your family right? Do you live around here then?" He seemed to know the area quite well, so she could only assume!

Geoffrey: "Well, technically I don't live anywhere if we're not talking about the University." He swirled the wine in his glass and took a sip. "I'm..." How could he phrase this? "...a street painter and performer. I try not to live off of my parents' money." He felt like that was the best way he could say 'oh I live on the streets,' without sounding homeless.

Emma: "Oh." Nice one Em. Pick the awkward question. Her head perked up when he described his "title" and she replied, "Really? That sounds quite interesting! What do you, um, perform?"

Geoffrey smiled! "Well, I play guitar and sing a little! The people in town seem to enjoy it, anyway." He perked up when the baguette was brought to the table, along with a plate with herbs and oil for dipping. He picked up a small slice and dipped it, allowed it to soak up some of the herbs before offering it to Emma. "Would you like to try this? It's quite delicious!"

Emma: "Of course!" she said, taking the piece of bread. She would never pass up what looked like good food! She took a thoughtful bite and smiled. "It's quite good!" Momentarily setting the piece on her plate, she continued the conversation. "What songs do you know? Oh! Do you know 'Over the River and Through the Wood?' My grandmother used to sing that all the time to us!"

Geoffrey: He too took a piece of the baguette and dipped it in the oil and herb mixture for himself. Laughing a little at her 'what songs do you know?' question, he had to think about the song she asked about curiously. He thought he knew most songs, but he'd never heard of that one!
"I cannot say I know that one!" he said, sounding a little surprised. "But I know many others! If it's a love song I know it, for example. And if it's a... well... I can't really think of any songs other than love songs at the moment..." Were there songs that weren't about love? He'd never thought about that before. "How does that song go, ma fleur?"

Emma: She held up a finger as she attempted to chew the rest of the baguette, which she'd crammed in her mouth while he wasn't looking. After successfully getting it down she replied, "Oh, ummm. I think it's just 'Over the river and through the woods, to Grandmother's house we go~... Darn, I believe I forgot the rest!"
She laid her cheek on her hand and tapped, trying to hum out the tune. After a few moments she sighed. "John would know it! He could probably sing it better too," she laughed. "Sorry though, I just can't recall it!"

Geoffrey nodded. "Oh, it is fine! Maybe that is the only important part!" He grinned at her as the waiter returned to give them their food.
"Ah, merci beaucoup, monsieur!" They exchanged pleasantries and the waiter left them to their dinner, assuring them he'd be back to check on them soon.
Geoffrey inhaled deeply through his nose, taking in the smell. "How does it look, ma fleur?"

"Maybe," Emma mused. "I do remember something about horses and snow but..." She was distracted by the incoming food and sat up straighter. She smiled up to the waiter as he left and looked back down to inspect the meal.
"It looks positively delicious!" she answered as she carefully took it apart. She peered closely, trying to memorize the ingredients so that Milo could have a go at making it.She wasn't a betting woman, yet she would bet on her mother's life he could make an even better quiche then this one, given the recipe. And even if he couldn't, she wouldn't be a at much of a loss!
Remembering her manners, she motioned her head towards Geoffrey's meal. "What about yours?"

Geoffrey smiled, looking down at his food and then up at her. "Positively divine, as per the usual!" he trilled- more excited that she was here with him than he was about the food. That was saying something, since he did adore the food here.
"I hope Valentine's Ville can hold its own against Thanksgiving Town in the food department, but I'll admit it's unlikely!" The warm, homey-ness of all the food in Thanksgiving Town made his mouth water thinking about it. Especially Emma's pies!!

Emma smiled sweetly and replied, "Oh yes, it is quite unlikely." There was no food in the world that could beat the taste of Thanksgiving food, ESPECIALLY if they were talking about her grandma's homemade pies. That lady had a certain magic that not even Emma could master! Her smile warmed a bit as she thought about her and took her first bite of quiche. Her eyes widened and she pointed towards the dish excitedly. "This is pretty good though!"

Geoffrey was satisfied with that, at least! He grinned and took a bite of his own food and nodded, "Yes! I think Nathaniel's here today!" He felt a bit guilty because he'd been considering making Nathaniel write it off as his food like he usually did for brunch. No, he had to pay for this himself! He cleared his throat after a minute.
"I mention Nathaniel because he's actually from Thanksgiving Town! I do not know much else, I'm afraid," Other than he's a pirate. "That means the dessert will probably be extra delicieux!"
